Flyin High

The other day I told Kai I told Kai I wanted to see him brush his teeth to make sure he was doing it right. His teeth never looked like they needed brushing cause he did such a good job at brushing. But I like to make sure everything is being done right every once in a while with the older but younger kids who like to do it themselves.
I got into the bathroom and proceded to start brushing and asking can you feel how hard I am brushing and other questions like that.
I asked him to open his mouth so we could brush the tops of the teeth where he chews his food.....OH MY GOSH he had the biggest cavities I have ever seen in anyones mouth. I was horrified!!!! I asked many questions and found that they didn't hurt and that he had been loosing bits and pieces of his teeth for weeks and he never told anyone :O
I called the dentist the next morning and told her I was coming in and not leaving till they pulled the teeth because they were close to absess if not already there.
Kai was a trooper getting a tooth pulled on each side of his mouth. One tooth was absessed but as soon as the tooth came out the infection came with it. ICK!
He has since healed well and you would never know except for the big empty spaces in his mouth.
Moms......check their brushing more often than I did. Cause WOW!!!! I had a $300 bill for my laziness.

Watering

Corey has been helping his dad with the watering of farm land. It has been good for Corey, helping him prepare for the farm. The boys love going out with Corey and 'helping' change water.

You can see them 'watching' over the water valve while Corey goes to shut off the sprinklers.

This has been so much fun watching Corey with the boys and they all feel so important when he is around....it is just a gift Corey has and I am greatful for it.

Confrence Weekend

This years Confrence was awesome. I have always loved this weekend because the family gets to be together and nothing gets in the way of famiy time. As most moms know Confrence weekend is hard on the little ones and so to with mine. I snaped this shot of Kai and Aislinn sharing a blanket. They were so cute.

Every year our county puts on a festival of sorts that is based on natural resources found in our area.
The children love filling their bags full of treats, gifts and pamphlets.

Darn that Alvin!

The other day Aislinn was doing this weird little dance and chanting something over and over again. I asked her what she was doing and she started singing...."Boom chick a wow wow" over and over while shaking her toosh. It was so funny then it made me wonder where she had gotten this from. I asked her who showed her how to do Boom chick a wow wow and she told me Keenan taught her....so I asked Keenan who showed him and he said Kai......so I asked Kai where he learned Boom chick a wow wow and he looked at me and said,"Alvin taught me." I was so confused.... "Alvin who?" I asked. "Duh, You know Alivn and the Chipmunks!"
Oh great! So now she calls her bum a Boom chick a wow wow and she is singing this song and dancing her dance all the time now. At the store, at home, visiting family...anywhere!!!
THANKS ALOT ALVIN!!!!

Shopping

Today Kai, Keenan, Aislinn and I all went to Walmart to go shopping. The boys naturaly wanted new movies. They were on the $5 sale so we got two....Dinosaur and Barbie and the Magic of Pegasis.

And naturally Aislinn went for the electronics. She really wanted the $44 camcorders they had on display.

Jamie called while we were shopping and asked if we wanted to go to lunch. So we all went to Subway. The kids loved it!
Keenan, Aislinn, Kai and Bailey

Jamie and I ate and talked till the children were done and running around like crazies and screaming. After some dirty looks from older people we decided to leave.

So we went to Jamies and the children played while James and I facebooked. It was so much fun. Seeing old flames, old friends and catching up on their lives.
Yah, we are addicted now!
I was such a fun day.
BTW this was the day I lost my camera.

Is Santa Real?

So the other day Kai was asking me about Santa. "Is Santa real?" he asked. A little surprised I said "Well what do you think?" He thought about it for a little bit and responded "No, I think Santa is Daddy." I didn't say anything.

What do you say to that? This was a critical point for him. Do I say your right and that magic is possible lost or do I lie, keep the magic there a little longer but in the end he will find out I lied to him anyway? What do you do? I choose to try and act like I hadn't heard him.

That didn't work because he watched me an realized I wasn't going to say anything so he asked "Mom is it dad?". My response was again "What do you think?". He just looked at me and said " I think your my mom and you won't lie to me. Is daddy Santa?". "You know you are pretty smart! Your right, how did you know?" I said. {big smile} "I know because I am smart!"

Now I know that some mom's will think I was a terrible mother for telling him but I felt that if I want him to never doubt anything I tell him I have to be honest in everything. I tried to avoid the answer but he was insistent, that told me he really wanted to know and he has every right to know.

It didn't take away from the excitement of Christmas for him he is still just as excited as ever if not more so. He knows all the secrets and he now is part of a group of people who know something that his little brother and sister don't. He is part of the 'big kid' group. I am always amazed that even at 5 they are smart about how things are.

After all people, Christmas isn't about Santa it is about Christ, the spirit of giving and love. Him knowing something so insignificant doesn't change the real meaning of Christmas. It refocuses it!

Kai's Birthday #6

Kai's birthday was this past Sunday and boy did he have a great day. At church the primary sang him a Happy Birthday and he got a small gift. Then we went to his grandma Darlene's for lunch. Then we had dinner (not his birthday dinner. Mom didn't think about that fast enough.) and then Cake, Ice Cream and presents.

Kai got 2 new pair of pants, $16 from grandparents, cards gallore, and his favorite gift was a set of cowboy cap guns. They came with holsters and a belt. He hasn't stoped playing with those all week.

Leah also gave him a stuffed animal of hers that he liked and a couple of coins. She is such a good gift giver.

I had to throw this picture in. Keenan has always had a hard time eating Ice Cream with the spoon. So he figured it would be easier to just for go the spoon and it worked out pretty good.
Needless to say he was a mess when he was done.

I think Kai enjoyed his day. BTW, for his birthday dinner he wanted pizza so we got Little Ceazers Pizza and Wall-e for FHE. The kids liked the movie but said it was really sad.
