Lazy days of summer

Sigh, so this year I had high hopes of relaxing and enjoying my summer with my kids. I wanted to be home and relax, be here as needed for popcorn making, fort building and sprinkler placing. But I worry I have over scheduled again. It wouldn't be so bad if I only had one or two schedules to keep up with but to have literally 6 is just overwhelming. I don't know if I am going to make it but if the rest of the week works itself out to be like today there will be some serious changes on the horizon....I am about ready to cut everything and plan nothing.....I want the lazy days of summer back....my kids need it too. How does one have fond memories of summer if they spend all their time stressing about being on time to various activities? You cant!
Oh, pray I need it!

Rolling Easter Eggs

Our yearly tradition is rolling easter eggs on the red hill on the otherside of the resivor.
Brinley shows off HER eggs that she decorated!

Everyone at the top of the hill and getting the eggs ready for rolling.

Brinley, Aislinn and Leah pose in their easter hats. I got them at the best place anyplace. Check out this web site if you want one for yourself. They are super cute and very well made!http://www.wilkersonivffund.blogspot.com/

My sweetheart and I enjoy watching our children....isn't he cute?

The aftermath of the annual easter egg roll.

My sweet baby...I had to post this cause of her cute chocolate face.

LOL Corey goes snacking on the 'leftover' eggs. No but really he didn't eat them off the ground!

FHE Fun!

This past Monday for FHE the children cut out St. Patties Day cookies and we frosted them with green frosting!

The children had so much fun. They all tried their hand at cutting out cookies and then when they were eating dinner mom frosted them in time for eatting just before bed!

The kids all had fun and it was so fun to watch them play in the dough!

We love FHE.

Justin gets the Priesthood

Last night our family was able to go to Ephriam and see Justin and Mairah. Justin was being advanced in the Pristhood and is now an Elder!!! It was an awesome experience to see this happen and for our children to see how it is done.
It was so cute, while we were there Corey and I were standing by a wall because all the chairs had been taken. Creed and Kai had been sharing a chair and they gave up their chair so I could sit down....It made a mommy proud!
We love Mariah and Justin and are excited to see them getting closer and closer to the temple!

Brinley's Band Concert

Lastnight (Tuesday) was Brinley's Christmas Band Concert. She has choosen to learn the Alto Sax and has fallen in love with it. She is very gifted and I have been so impressed with her dedication to it.

The whole family went to support Brinley and the children really seemed to enjoy the music.

For a beginning band they did a great job. The have an amazing teacher who has done great things for these children. Many of them have never played a note of music in there lives and here they are playing popular Christmas tunes.

After the concert we went to celebrate at Pepperbellys. It is a huge deal to take that many children anywhere....let a lone a resturant. They did good though and we all left so full we could hardly move!

It was a great family night. This has been added to one of my favorite memories.

Thanksgiving at Aunt Sharon's

This year we had Thanksgiving dinner at Corey's Aunt Sharon's house. Alot of people came and it was great to see everyone again. Alot of them we haven't seen since the Thanksgiving before. The kids got to see loved cousins and Corey and I also got to visit with cousins.
Dinner was great and there was so much of it. The children had many helpings of various foods and topped it off with pie and ice cream.

Aislinn and Keenan eating dinner by Grandpa Alma.

Hailee (a first cousin to our children) and Ali (a secound cousin to our children) visit during dinner. They were so funny.

Aislinn helping her first cousin Lincoln get his binkie back in his mouth. She really is such a good helper.

Jennifer leaving the frenzy that was in the kitchen as everyone tired to get dinner ready.

This was such a great day and I am so greatful to have had the opprotunity to be surounded by so many of the people I love. Thanks to everyone that brough food and a huge thanks to Aunt Sharon for hosting such a huge event at her house. The decorations were great, the food was wonderful and the company was perfect!

Cleaning the Church

It was our turn to clean the Sigurd Ward House. In our ward each family does it two times a year and this was our second time. We were there for three hours. The kids had fun and so did we. We started at 9am just because we had so much to do Saturday.

Corey was incharge of the vaccuming. He did every class room, all the halls and the chapel. All of the floors were aweful and needed cleaning badly.

I hate this picture but the family said I had to post it. So dispite my embarasment here it is.
I was incharge of all the mirrors and windows. They were ok but the outside hadn't been done in forever they were so dirty!

Brinley was in charge of cleaning all the black boards. There is one in just about every room in the chruch. She did a great job, as always. She is a hard worker.

Leah cleaned the bathrooms. All she had to do was clean the sinks and the counters. The church hires someone to come out and do the toylets. So she lucked out! She was very greatful.

Creed was incharge of cleaning out all the garbage cans. There is also one of these in every room. Most of them have liners in them. This one was one that didn't and all he was cleaning out was cut up paper. He liked this job.

Kai was to go behind Creed and reline every waist basket. He was so fast and did such a great job. Every room was done perfectly!!!! He is also a great worker.

Keenan was incharge of cleaning up the Nursery Room. There were a bunch of chairs down and so he was cleaning them up when I got this cute picture of him stacking the chairs.

Aislinn was incharge of helping Keenan with his room. She was so funny if you look on Keenan's picture you can see her in the background pulling chairs. Just after I took Keenan's picture her chairs fell over but she just kept hauling them. By the time she was where she needed to stack them they had wraped around her and she was trying to figure out how to get out of them. It was so cute.

Ward Campout

Our ward campout was September 12 and 13. I realize that this was a month ago but my awesome friend Heidi sent me over some pictures of the event and I wanted to share.

Here is my father-in-law (Alma) on the left hand side with my mother-in-law (Darlene) visiting while they eat dinner. Yummy potlucks you can't beat them!

Creed is right in front. Everyone is enjoying the food and the company! It was fun to have such a great turnout.

Corey is enjoying the last little bit of his dinner while Jamie (my BFF) and I get caught off guard by Heidi the picture queen! Jamie saw her coming before I did....

...but I forced her to get a picture. She wasn't very happy but I don't care! ;)

After dinner we had an awesome fireside. President Alvey (a member of our Stake Presidency) spoke to us about the importance of listening to the spirit and recognizing it. I really was a fireside that stuck for me.

We didn't stay much longer than the end of the fireside because it was getting really cold and I was worried the childrens asthma was going to act up. Not only that but we were leaving for Salt Lake City the next morning, early, and we needed showers before we left. I heard about the stories the day after at church and wish I could have been there.
